SSE Renewables has named Seaway7 as preferred supplier for the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of wind turbine foundations and subsea inter-array cables at its 1.4 GW Berwick Bank B offshore wind project in Scotland's outer Firth of Forth, the company announced on October 20, 2026.
The agreement remains subject to final contract award; SSE is targeting a final investment decision on Berwick Bank B in 2027.
SSE said the planned work is expected to support 465 jobs across the UK, including 400 in Scotland: around 160 direct roles at Seaway7 led from its Aberdeen base, another 105 in the UK supply chain, and a further 200 direct and indirect jobs through foundation marshalling at a Scottish port to be announced later.
The company said the Seaway7 agreement brings total jobs created or supported through its Berwick Bank B commitments to around 600 across the UK, including more than 500 in Scotland. Those figures also count previously announced plans for an operations and maintenance base at Montrose Port, with 100 long-term jobs and around 30 construction roles.
Seaway7 is part of the Subsea7 group. Job figures are company projections tied to a project that has not yet reached final investment decision.
