Greenvolt announced on October 8, 2026 that it secured EUR 284 million in project financing for the Gurbanesti wind project east of Bucharest, Romania. The company describes the development as a 253.1 megawatt project that is now under construction.
The financing was arranged with eight financial institutions. Greenvolt names UniCredit, Erste Group, Banca Comerciala Romana, Siemens Bank, Societe Generale, BRD, ING and Alpha Bank in the lending syndicate.
Greenvolt expects commercial operation by the end of 2027. That is a future company milestone, not evidence that the wind farm is supplying electricity today. Financing and construction should not be treated as completed generation capacity.
The project forms part of the Wind Rose platform, which also includes the separate Ialomita wind project. Greenvolt reports a Romanian utility-scale pipeline spanning wind, solar and battery storage. Pipeline figures describe development plans, not assets all operating on the grid.
The supported event is a financing close for a wind project under construction. The announcement does not provide a verified household bill reduction, a completed annual generation figure or a guaranteed construction-job total.
