e-STORAGE signs 100 MW/200 MWh battery agreement for OX2's Muswellbrook solar project
Canadian Solar said October 6 that e-STORAGE will supply and commission a 100 MW/200 MWh battery for OX2 in New South Wales. Shipments are scheduled for Q3 2027 and commercial operation is targeted for Q3 2028, not already achieved.

Canadian Solar announced on October 6, 2026 that its e-STORAGE business signed an agreement to supply and commission a 100 MW/200 MWh battery energy storage system for OX2's Muswellbrook Solar Farm and Battery in New South Wales, Australia.
The company schedules shipments for the third quarter of 2027 and targets commercial operation in the third quarter of 2028. Those dates are company plans, not completed milestones.
The system is to use SolBank 3.0 battery containers, power conversion systems, plant controls and e-STORAGE's EQ-S energy management software. e-STORAGE says its responsibilities include grid connection studies, the hybrid plant controller and integration and commissioning. A 20-year long-term service agreement backs the arrangement.
The project is roughly 2.5 kilometers east of Muswellbrook on land at a former coal mine in the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone. The battery is intended to store solar output and deliver it when needed, supporting OX2's hybrid power purchase agreement.
The release gives rated power of 100 MW and stored energy of 200 MWh. These are different measures: power describes output at a moment, while energy describes storage capacity. They should not be added together.
No contract price, consumer savings figure or completed grid connection is established by this announcement. The timing and performance statements are forward-looking company claims.
