The Corporate Energy Buyers Association endorsed the bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act in a September 30, 2026 statement from CEO Rich Powell. CEBA describes the package as addressing infrastructure permitting and transmission planning and urges lawmakers to advance it.
The statement thanks Senate committee leaders Shelley Moore Capito, Mike Lee, Sheldon Whitehouse and Martin Heinrich for their work on the package. CEBA says it has advocated for bipartisan permitting and transmission reform for years.
CEBA argues that constraining domestic clean-energy resources could add at least $121 billion to U.S. energy expenses in coming years. That is an advocacy group's estimate, not an observed cost or a guaranteed household savings figure. This statement does not provide a calculation method or a precise time period for that estimate.
An endorsement and a negotiated package are not the same as enacted law. The statement does not establish final legislative text, a completed congressional vote, new binding permitting deadlines or a change in a customer's electricity bill.
