Atmos names Valo and Enerven for 400 MW Teebar battery in Queensland

Original October 7 and 9 announcements name the technology supplier and builder. Commercial operation is targeted for late 2028, not already achieved.

Atmos Renewables has selected Valo to supply technology and Enerven to deliver its Teebar Battery Energy Storage System in Queensland. Valo's original announcement is dated October 7, while Enerven's page is dated October 9. The appointments concern a planned 400 MW / 1,600 MWh project, not a battery already in commercial service.

The project is adjacent to Powerlink's Teebar Creek substation, about 60 kilometres west of Maryborough in the Fraser Coast region. Atmos describes the project as in development and says it is expected to provide up to four hours of energy storage.

Valo says it will supply its GridSolve Quantum2 energy storage system and GEMS software. Its announcement also describes a long-term service agreement covering maintenance, remote operational support, software updates and performance monitoring. Those are contracted functions, not measured operating results for the unfinished project.

Enerven's scope includes site preparation, local road upgrades and construction facilities, battery-system integration, a 275 kV substation and about 300 metres of 275 kV overhead transmission lines. Its release says Valo will supply the battery technology while Enerven handles the delivery work.

Enerven says mobilisation is expected in October 2026 and a site ceremony is planned for October 20. Both Valo and Enerven identify late 2028 as the expected or targeted commercial-operation period. Enerven also says the project is supported through Australia's Capacity Investment Scheme.

Limits: the capacity and schedule are project plans reported by the developer and delivery partners. They do not establish achieved output, availability, revenue or on-time completion. The October announcements should not be described as a new October 12 commissioning event.
